Verzorgende IG (VIG) in the Netherlands:

You will be responsible for providing personal care, guidance, and basic nursing support to patients in both intramural (residential care facilities) and extramural (home care) settings. Your role is crucial in ensuring daily care, promoting patients' independence, and creating a safe and comfortable living environment. Collaboration with caregivers, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals is an essential part of delivering high-quality care.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

Personal Care:

§ Assist with daily activities such as washing, dressing, eating, and drinking.

§ Support mobility, including helping clients get up, sit down or move safely.

§ Encourage and promote client independence.

Nursing Duties:

§ Perform basic nursing procedures, including medication administration, wound care, catheter care and injections.

§ Monitor, identify, and report any changes in the client’s physical and mental health.

§ Assist with medical devices and ensure adherence to care plans.

§ Client Support & Well-Being:

  • Provide psychosocial support to clients and their families.

  • Create a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment.

  • Facilitate activities that enhance the client’s quality of life.

§ Administration & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate care records and document observations in client files.

  • Communicate with other healthcare providers regarding client progress and needs.

  • Collaboration & Professional Development:

  • Work closely with nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Actively participate in care discussions and contribute to improving care processes.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR (SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS)?

§ Registered Nurse with a completed nursing education (e.g., Bachelor of Nursing, Diploma 3 or 4 in Nursing).

§ At least 2 years of work experience in a healthcare institution as a nurse.

§ Proficient in English (minimum A2 level) and motivated to learn Dutch.

HOW DOES THE PROCESS LOOK Like?

The process of relocation to the Netherlands typically takes around 7-9 months. It begins with an

online Dutch language course followed by an intensive in-person language program in your home

country. During this period, we will match you with a healthcare institution in the Netherlands and

initiate the application process for your work visa.

General Steps:

  1. Interview – Initial interview in English.

  2. Assessment Test – Complete an online assessment.

  3. Agreement – Sign the participation agreement.

  4. Online Language Program – Start with an online Dutch language course up to A1 level (approx. 3-4 months).

  5. Dutch Proficiency Check – Administer the Dutch A1 test, and only those who pass will be eligible to proceed to the intensive program.

  6. Intensive Language Program – Attend an in-person intensive Dutch language course (approx. 4-5 months).

Job Matching – Get matched with a healthcare institution in the Netherlands.

Visa & Clearance Process – Start visa application and exit clearance procedures.

Relocation – Depart for the Netherlands.

SALARY & WORKING CONDITIONS

§ Monthly gross salary of €2.414,72 - €3.337,94

§ Estimated monthly net salary of €2.113,64 - €2.592,65 ("Tax deductions will vary depending on factors such as your personal circumstances, including your income level, tax residency status, and eligible tax credits or allowances.)

§ Extra irregularity allowance for night/weekend shifts.

Between 06:00 and 07:00 and between 20:00 and 22:00 from Monday to Friday 22%

Between 06:00 and 08:00 and between 12:00 and 22:00 on Saturday 38%

Between 00:00 and 06:00 and between 22:00 and 24:00 from Monday to Friday 44%

Between 00:00 and 06:00 and between 22:00 and 24:00 on Saturday 49%

Between 00:00 and 24:00 on Sundays and public holidays and between 18:00 and 24:00 on December 24 and 31 60%

§ End-of-year bonus of 8.33% over your annual income
